Takeaway: Good health is more encompassing than exercise and diet alone. Giving up your social life in pursuit of better health is missing the bigger picture of what good health means.
Stop eating out if you want to lose weight!
This is the advice you’ll hear the majority of fitness coaches and trainers give to help their clients see results.
And not for nothing. Eating out does make reaching weight loss goals more difficult.
The portions are larger. The choices are more decadent. The calorie content is much higher.
One unrestrained meal out can ruin an entire week’s worth of hard work.
But eating out and being social doesn’t have to hold you back, nor do you have to sacrifice this enjoyable part of your life.
Eating out only stops your progress if you aren’t given the tools to properly navigate these situations.
Going out is about having great food, but it’s also about more than that. It’s about connection. It’s about fun. It’s about making memories and improving your wellbeing.
All of those qualities are important for your health too.
Blindly asking you to give up this part of your life is lazy advice. It’s asking you to ignore a challenge that will always be there to make the coaches job easier.
We believe differently.
We believe in empowering individuals with the skills and toolkit needed to masterfully enjoy their social lives and still see the results that they want.
Because, when you can balance the two, you stand the greatest chance of keeping your results long-term.
When you can do it all, you can have it all.
Giving up your social life in pursuit of better health is missing the bigger picture of what good health means.
