I read this quote from his weekly newsletter that really stuck out to me:
“The quicker you want something, the easier you are to manipulate.”
Get-rich-quick schemes work because those who fall for it allow themselves to explain away the red flags. They want to be rich today so badly that they allow themselves to be manipulated.
Individuals who want 30lbs gone by tomorrow open themselves up to the same trap. They fall for the next big diet gimmick because it makes the promise that their fantasy could be a reality.
I combat this with my life rule #18: If someone is rushing you to make a decision, the answer should be no.
Interestingly, that someone can often be yourself.
To your continued patience for success,
~ Coach Alex
