Unleash The Power of Your Inner Wolves: How To Turn Your Demons Into Your Greatest Strength
Mindset Monday
Takeaway: We’ve all got a dark side, inner demons that we have to battle. Face your demons head-on, learn where they come from, and learn how to control them. If you can domesticate your demons and make them work for you in a positive way, life will get so much easier.
Every person has their own demons that they have to overcome.
Everyone’s got that dark side that they have to deal with.
Now, most people spend their entire lives running away from those demons. A lot of people assume that the best way to overcome these demons is to continue running, although the demons always find us—no matter what. Or, to try and kill those demons. To slay those demons, so that they no longer bother us.
I want to give you a different analogy, instead.
We has hunters, our ancestors, when we were out hunting our deer, elk, or whatever, we ran across an issue.
Wolves.
Wolves were the issue because they kept stealing our sh*t.
As hunter-gatherers, we had a decision to make. We could keep trying to co-exist with wolves and they would keep stealing our kills, and killing our young, and continue to cause a lot of issues for us.
Or, we could in turn create tools, create weapons, and slay the wolves. We could put them down so that they no longer bother us. The challenge with slaying wolves is that they always come back. So we think that they’re gone, and they may be gone for a time, but then they always come back.
Do you know what we did to ensure we didn’t have to worry about wolves anymore?
We turned them into dogs.
We turned our demons into our best friends so that they could help us get further. They could help now make hunting easier for us because they could chase down prey.
They could work together with us to create a positive outcome, instead of competing with us for the things we want and need.
You’re not trying to slay your demons forever because they won’t go away. They will come back. You’re not trying to run and hide from them, or else they’ll just create more havoc.
Instead, face your demons head-on, learn where they come from, and learn how to control them.
If you can domesticate your demons and make them work for you in a positive way, life will get so much easier.
