Stuck, Tired, and Spinning in Place? Read This to Find Your TrueYou+
A few weeks ago, I had a coaching call with a client who was in a slump. You know the kind—where everything feels heavy and nothing feels urgent, but it’s all still quietly demanding your attention.
Her routine had fallen apart. Morning chaos at home. Clothes that didn’t fit right. Energy stuck somewhere between “meh” and “maybe tomorrow.”
And when we talked about getting back into the gym—something she knew helped her feel better—she said, “I just haven’t felt like going.”
Now, let’s pause right there. Because if you’re reading this and nodding, you’re probably in the same loop.
You know what would help. You even like doing it. But you’re still not doing it.
That’s not laziness. That’s inertia. And inertia doesn’t break with motivation—it breaks with movement.
She had fallen into what I call the slump loop:
You feel low, so you skip the thing that helps you feel better.
Skipping it makes you feel worse.
Feeling worse reinforces the belief that you’re “off track.”
That belief kills your momentum before it can even begin.
Here’s the truth bomb I dropped on her:
“Feeling in a slump is not a reason to skip the gym. It’s the proof that you need to go.”
She didn’t need to overhaul her life. She didn’t need to get back to five workouts a week, or find the perfect pair of leggings, or wait for the house to be quiet again.
She just needed to walk through the doors—at any cost.
Because progress doesn’t always start from feeling good.
Sometimes it starts from doing something that reminds you what good feels like.
We reframed the gym as more than just fitness. It became her tool to generate momentum in a life that had stalled.
Work stress? Still there.
Kid chaos? Still loud.
Clothes? Still a little tight.
But when she walks out of the gym, even after a short lift, she’s a woman who followed through. A woman who made something happen.
And that changes everything. Because action creates evidence. And evidence builds belief.
Toward the end of our call, she said something I won’t forget.
“I used to say I just wanted to feel like myself again.”
I paused. Then told her gently, “That’s not the goal anymore. You don’t just want to feel like the ‘old you’—you’re building a version of you that didn’t exist before.”
That’s TrueYou+.
Not a comeback. Not a rewind.
An upgrade.
So if you’re stuck right now—waiting for clarity, waiting for motivation, waiting for life to settle down—don’t wait.
Pick something small and make a move.
Maybe it’s a short workout.
Maybe it’s prepping a meal instead of grabbing takeout.
Maybe it’s putting on the clothes that feel a little snug and showing up anyway.
Not because you feel like it, but because it’s the lever that turns the engine back on.
Progress doesn't wait for motivation.
Progress creates motivation.
So go create it.
You’ll be surprised how quickly the wheels start turning again.
Let’s go find your TrueYou+.
