Takeaway: Author Jakob Greenfeld defines insight porn as,
“It’s advice that sounds plausible and breaks down a goal many people dream about into actionable steps. This is extremely inspiring content. It’s insight porn par excellence… Only once you actually try to do anything with the advice, do you notice it’s completely useless. Far too many essential details are missing.”
As a business owner, I get bombarded with this type of content all the time. I’ve even been guilty of consuming it too. Fitness coaches are guilty of wielding this type of insight porn to sell more of their services. I’d wager most of the fitness advertising you see falls into this category of pseudo-useful-but-mostly-pointless advice.
That’s why I created this newsletter. Every insight I share—every concept, perspective, rule, or wisdom—has been something I’ve actually applied in my life. The stories I share that accompany this wisdom are real. The experiences, and the transformative moments that follow, are all real.
I’m not here to add to the endless stream of pseudo-helpful content. I’m here to help you transform the way you think about and live your life…
Because I personally know just how powerful that transformation can be.
Coaching Conversations: Setting Our Own Expectations & Values
*This is a new article round-up series where I’ll share clips of impactful conversations between coach and client happening inside of our online coaching program.*
In this clip, we discuss understanding the values and expectations placed on us as children, and how, in adulthood, it becomes our responsibility to rewrite these values and expectations based on what we’d like out of life.
This is such an important concept to understand, otherwise we risk being driven by these ingrained values that we had no say in creating and may be driving us in a direction we don’t want to go.

“5 Ways To Prevent Injury In the Gym”

Just For Fun:
“The Curious History of Gummi Worms”
Takeaway: Maybe the greatest candy ever? I guess that depends on which end of the chocolate vs fruity spectrum you fall on for your candy preferences. Nevertheless, the origin of this classic is pretty interesting.
(Regardless of your candy preferences, I will debate until the day I die that gummi worms are indisputably the best candy to add to a yogurt parfait.)
Chocolate covered gummy worms and gummy bears allow people to have the best of both worlds. Highly recommended.
