Featured Thoughts: My Wild Animal Encounter
A few weeks ago I shared a podcast from the Armchair Experts show sharing wild animal encounters. There were some riveting stories shared there, you should definitely go back and listen.
I mentioned a wild animal encounter of my own. A few folks reached out curious to hear the story, so I will share it with you here below. Still one of the most frightening moments I’ve experienced.
“The Most Powerful Life Hacks”
Takeaway: This is another list of good life rules. (You know I’m a fan!) Here are some of my favorites:
“When you think something nice about someone, let them know. It's a shame that we often wait until a person's funeral to say all of the nice things we thought about them. The next time you have a positive thought about someone—tell them right then.”
“Be frugal with yourself and generous with others.”
“Treat your credit card like a debit card—assume the money is leaving your bank account when you swipe it. Pay it off entirely every month.”
“Do one hard thing every day when you could do it the easy way. Take the stairs even if the elevator is working, run up the hill even if there is a flat route home, take the cold shower even if the hot water is working. When we do hard things, we train ourselves to embrace friction and build resilience. Hard things compound.”

“3 Benefits of Daily Exercise”
Takeaway: Happiness. Confidence. Mental Performance. Need I say more?
You don’t need to spend a ton of time on this. Even 15-20min daily is enough to reap the benefits.
“How To Effectively Track Changes In Body Composition”
Takeaway: Full body measurements, like those handheld machines or scales that tell you bodyfat percentage, tend to be too unreliable to accurately measure your body composition. Better measures involve a combination of scale weight, tape measurements and/or body fat calipers, visual changes in the mirror, and how clothes are fitting.
Fortunately, inside of A-Team Fitness’ online coaching program we already knew this, which is why bodyweight, tape measurements, and progress photos are our main metrics for tracking progress.
