Featured Thoughts: Food Freedom Framework Snapshot + Travel Nutrition Secret
Here’s a short, audio clip summary of my Food Freedom Framework seminar this past weekend:
The Food Freedom Framework involves five levels (in order of priority):
Calorie Management
Protein Intake
Carbohydrates/Fats Distribution
Food Quality
Meal Timing
Hint: The first two levels make up the majority of the success you’ll see with your nutrition program when it comes to changing your body composition. Focusing solely on calorie management and protein intake is my personal secret to staying fit while traveling abroad.
“Life Advice: Wisdom From Readers of Meaningfully Mundane”
Takeaway: If you’ve been in the community awhile, you know I love a good life advice list. I polled readers of this newsletter and followers on my social media accounts what single piece of advice they’d give to someone to live a better life. Below you’ll find some of these responses, as well as a few I’ve nabbed from other sources.
“8 Subtle Reasons People Keep Disrespecting You”
Takeaway: You may have heard me say, “What we tolerate teaches others how to treat us.”
And it’s true. The overarching theme of this article is about what you’re willing to tolerate. If people constantly disrespect you it’s either because:
You let them, or
You set an example by disrespecting yourself first.
If you want to command respect, start by commanding that you respect yourself. Practice your values and do the things you’ll say you’ll do. Keep the promises you make to yourself.
“Get Better Answers By Asking Better Questions”
Takeaway: If you want to increase your chances of success, then you need better information. The higher the quality of the information you obtain, the better decisions yo’ll be able to make. (Which, in turn, lead to better outcomes.) To get better information you need to ask better questions. This skill is harder than you may think.
That’s why the Genie thought experiment is so interesting. If a Genie granted you only three wishes, you’d think pretty hard about what you’d ask for. What if you treated your questions this way?
This article gives great tips for improving your question-asking skills.
