Money is a tool. Learn how to spend your money on the right things, and it’ll make all the difference on your levels of happiness.
Here are five purchases I make regularly that I’ve never regretted:
Books
Books are the number one, most affordable way to gain mentorship. When you read a book you are reading the author’s thoughts and learning how they view the world. For $15, I won’t think twice about buying a book that I might be interested in. And if someone I admire recommends a book, I don’t hesitate to purchase it too. Even a single idea read in a book could be a game-changer for your life.
Gym Membership
Without your health nothing else matters. Personally, I don’t like home workouts. They’re not for me. Having a place I can go to focus on my workouts has been so crucial. It’s a ritual for me. It allows me to maintain my health and relieve the day’s stress in an environment that’s away from home. That means I can avoid bringing that stress home and keep the house more peaceful and calming.
Buying Coffee For a Friend
Research continues to find that our relationships and close connections are the cornerstone of our wellbeing. Not only is it important to take time for these relationships, it also feels good to do nice things for people. I will never hesitate to buy a friend coffee to sit and have a conversation with me. And when possible, I’ll occasionally pick up the lager dinner tabs too. It shows that I care and will eventually come back around.
Travel
Travel gives you experiences. It gives you new perspectives. It’s the most effective form of personal growth. A cheat code to life. If you’re lucky enough to have the means to travel, don’t waste it. Never think twice about taking that next adventure. There are tips and tricks to reduce costs.
Chicken Nuggets
Still, in my opinion, peak human culinary achievement.
